The advent calendar is created from multiple layers of carved wood, beginning with a detailed CNC-carved base featuring timber planks, snow effects, festive foliage, and the central character. The numbered countdown markers and decorative elements are carved directly into the design to create depth and texture throughout the piece.
After carving, the wood is sealed and hand-painted using layers of acrylic paints, washes, and dry-brushing techniques to bring out the character details and create a warm festive colour palette. Snow effects, pinecones, foliage, and lettering are individually highlighted by hand to add depth and visual interest.
The finished calendar is then assembled with twenty-four hanging fabric gift pouches, each attached to its own numbered position. Finally, the piece is protected with a durable clear finish, creating a reusable Christmas decoration that combines traditional woodworking, carving, painting, and festive storytelling into a family heirloom designed to be enjoyed for many Christmases to come.
