Rather than viewing the couple from inside the restaurant, the scene is presented as if you are peering through the restaurant window itself, creating the feeling of witnessing a special private moment.

The traditional restaurant sign is replaced with the couple’s surname, while the date of their marriage is proudly displayed below, transforming an iconic scene into a deeply personal celebration of love and commitment. Complete with candlelight, a shared plate of pasta, and carefully crafted architectural details, the piece serves as a lasting reminder of a couple’s story together.

How It’s Made

This custom piece begins as a digitally designed relief carving, carefully adapted to incorporate personalised details while preserving the warmth and charm of the original inspiration. The restaurant façade, window frame, characters, table setting, and decorative elements are individually sculpted to create depth and perspective throughout the scene.

Using CNC carving technology, the design is carved from wood before being refined and detailed by hand. Particular attention is given to the layered composition, allowing the viewer to feel as though they are looking through the restaurant window into an intimate moment taking place inside.

Once carved, the piece is sealed and hand-painted using multiple layers of acrylic paints, washes, and dry-brushing techniques to bring the characters and setting to life. The personalised surname sign and commemorative date plaque are then finished and integrated into the design before a protective clear coat is applied.

The result is a one-of-a-kind keepsake that combines traditional woodworking, carving, painting, and personal storytelling into a meaningful piece of artwork created to celebrate a special relationship.
