Pirates of the Caribbean Map

This piece begins as a custom digital relief sculpture designed to recreate the layered storytelling and atmospheric detail of a weathered pirate treasure map. Each element — including the pirate figures, skeletal remains, compass details, ship scene and aged parchment textures — is carefully composed to create depth, movement and a cinematic sense of adventure throughout the artwork.

The design is precision CNC carved from solid oak, allowing the intricate textures, distressed edges and fine nautical detailing to be reproduced with exceptional accuracy. Once carved, the plaque is individually hand-finished and painted using layered washes, weathering effects and aged patina techniques to enhance the illusion of worn parchment, sea-worn timber and dramatic moonlit coastal scenery while preserving the natural warmth and grain of the oak beneath.
