Inspired by classic storybook attraction artwork and rustic woodland scenery, this piece was first designed as a layered digital relief composition to create depth, movement and a strong sense of atmosphere. The twisting branch border, mountain waterfall, carved foliage and character elements were carefully arranged to guide the eye naturally through the scene.
The artwork is precision CNC carved from solid oak, allowing the fine carved textures and layered depth to be reproduced with exceptional detail. After carving, each plaque is individually hand-finished and painted using layered washes, dry brushing and subtle shading techniques to enhance the warm rustic tones while preserving the natural grain and character of the wood beneath.
